Purpose of turning mousepad sideways?
I've seen this in videos of ppl playing pc games. they aren't necessarily limited by desk space either. does this give some kinda advantage? Typically you're turning more left and right than up and down in an FPS overall so you'd think you'd wanna turn it the normal way.

IDK but I haven't found a decent mouse pad in years... I was using the fat leather arm of a Lay-z-boy for a while. But for the past few years Ive been using an oak board <unfinished> that I sand occasionally ... tracking is excellent and comfortable for kicking back on the sofa with the feet up.

Yea but is there even a noticeable difference with a modern gaming mouse?

Who the hell doesn't? I don't know a single person that doesn't when playing games.

Not using one myself I was wondering if that was indeed a valid question and was wondering too. Mouse pads to me seem so limiting, even if I could find one that would track well.

Ergonomics, thats why! Ever felt pain when using a flat mouse? Thats because of your bones rubbing against each other when you flatten your hand. If you do that too often, you may dislocate your wrist bone. i just started trying it. also try using your mouse upside down for once.
