What's the difference between Listen and Dedicated server?

Sorry. I'm not used to 2 different kinds of servers. I've heard listen servers are easier to create. But whats the actual difference between the both of them? Is it something about are or something?

Shortly - listen available only while you are playing and shuts down when you quit. Good for lan games. Dedicated runs as background process regardless from amount of players. Good for inet games and for custom settings/rules.

As for something that affects the gameplay, dedicated servers have larger hitboxes for the heads. On listen servers, getting headshots can be a big pain because shots that would be clear headshots on a dedicated server register as body shots. If you play mostly on dedicated servers, the difference gets very noticable.
