I've been doing exactly what you suggested with an external download link to serve the music files, not the most convenient solution, but there's nothing we can do to improve that, sadly.
Thanks for your answer, you've made things clearer to me now.
Last time I checked - everything worked fine.

And even if it doesn't - you can install client files manually.
Automatically downloading a .dll file that injects itself into your executable to download specific files online. AFAIK, Marco's "exploit" only worked on Windows 7 and that was subsequently patched/removed on Windows 10. I have no idea about Linux, maybe that hasn't been patched. I remembered trying to get Marco's "Music Downloader" to work, I tinkered with it a fair bit, but couldn't get it to work at all. Then, digging around, I found some people discussing how it wasn't working on Windows 10 since it Marco was using a W7 exploit to download a .dll and inject code that way.
Yeaaah, that's what I do! I much prefer doing that tbh.
Just tested on windows 11 latest / KF1 Dedicated server vanilla + music loader - everything works.
I wouldn't say on "nothing"; I tried on W11 and W10 and couldn't get it to work (not even on a vanilla, freshly-installed server). I think we discussed this in your server, but some mods (not specifically Scrn, but other mods) prevent the game from restarting and installing the .dll file. I've got some other users (TWI forums and Discord) expressing concern about not being able to download anything due to either an error, the game not restarting, or the .dll file not generating. This is all based on our experience!
You know the crazy thing? After you gave me a hand, it WORKED ON LINUX. I just coudln't get it to work on Windows!
Scrn for example has changed a lot over last few years, you can report to Poosh. So he can check what's preventing music loader to show it's gui window to clients.
Tested on Windows 11, by the way, but the server had a few other mutators installed, so could be a case of incompatibility between them, who knows.
