Noobs who sit AFK on servers preventing games from starting
As the title says, if you get killed and decide to go AFK please leave the server instead of being a little ♥♥♥♥♥. Saves us time, and saves you looking like a ♥♥♥♥. Thanks.

This can be prevented by the server admin setting a 'kick idlers' time limit, if you see a lot in a particular server, it might be worth contacting an admin and asking them to set one.

Peace, Out.
Lol I have literally played hours with an afk on a server before xD He did not prevent the server from starting because we had a full lobby ready (except him of course) and I actually had fun because we had to work just a little harder. But yea that can be really annoying if you dont have a full game to help you start it. I havent seen anyone like that in a little while though.

bieng an admin to my own server for near 5 yrs now i rarely kick any players that has the requirement lvl for the difficult playing, now if there idle as u say in menu that isnt an issue there is settings ofc, o admin commands if there at hand, they will be kicked automatically from my server if the idle period in the game exceeds if they havent moved for a certain amount of time,i use this method always it prevents camping and possible expliotes that a player on ma server has to move from a-b after amount of time:) does it sound cruel well dont go afk in a middle of any game and expect to be still on the server when they get bk lol

Why do you play this game? Your previous posts are all the same, servers to avoid, people sitting AFK on servers, admin that kick, etc.

You must be the most put upon player I've seen in this game. Have you ever thought that maybe it's not the other players that are at fault.

lol Of course its the other players XD
I will not stop playing one of my favortite games just because there are some players that want to be little ♥♥♥♥♥ or go afk for hours on a single server that has no vote kick.

Yea, that is one of the reasons I don't post. As for the server I just join servers that have descent ping and players in them. So most of the time I don't really care to look if they have vote kick enabled or not lol. However if I can I join TTF's servers just because I do know they always have map vote and kick :D

Have you ever thought that I only make posts when I find faults? The majority of the time I play just fine. On the rare occasion I find a problem I post about it.

The main problem I see with AFK is when there is no idle time out on the server, and a player or 2 has a hissy fit because they lost the last game and so go AFK. You can't votekick if the game hasn't started yet. If the games already in progress and the diffculty isn't too high then it can be nice. But you can't actually start a game without a certain number of players on the server clicking "ready".

I'm well aware of that but wouldn't it make more sense just to leave the server?

Well that can be an option if you have else where to go. I prefer to play on some custom maps from time to time and it's hard to find servers that run them with good ping. Thus if a server is unplayable I might not be able to find a good replacement.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the afk player to leave rather than idle and hold a server slot?

Peace, Out.

AFK is soooo fuuuuuunnnnn...
Yarn W. Cotton Aug 4, 2014 @ 9:50pm
so they go afk because they die, and you think they did it to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? unless they died on pat level (as you stated since they afk before game start), they probally left thinking that they had time to go do something, but if they really are there afk for more then 10 minutes, then i understand what your saying
FuManBoobs Aug 4, 2014 @ 11:31pm
What Bob said.

Just when you're having a game, someone, or a couple from the same clan are playing. Everyone dies but they decide to stay on the server just to jam up the next game. So now 4 players are in the server, 2 are AFK.

Add to that as soon as the server gets full and the game starts, they leave. This is the kind of behaviour that makes someone a ♥♥♥♥ with a capital C.

Yeah, usually you give them all your money and they die and rage quit. It's only lately I've been seeing more AFK's clogging up server slots for players that might actually want to play a game. It would be nice to have a votekick option before the game starts.

Actually, you can kick players if the game has not started yet.
Open console -> enter: showmenu -> votekick idler -> profit.

Well I dont have vote kicking enabled on my server due to griefing from clans etc. If you do have someone afk in the server lobby at the start of the game, it should autostart after about 5 minutes regardless if everyone is ready or not.
