Killing Floor
How did you solo Thrills Chills and/or Clandestine?
Title just about says it all.

Some rather irrelevant information: I'm a veteran player but I haven't touched KF in a long time (not because of KF2) and I'm extremely rusty. And when I get rusty, I really get bad at a game.
I've kept up my 100% throughout KF updates when there were more players but just before the final content update most people I knew stopped playing and I couldn't be bothered to go at it alone. I've done some solo'ing in the past (might have to fix a key or two to go zerking some more) but I was just wondering if you guys had any tips for these maps.

Thrill's Chills I'm guessing it'll just be wandering about as berserker with some off-perk weapons. I'm not that familiar with the map so if anyone knows a good route or at least a relatively safe direction, please share. The Clandestine one I'm a little more concerned about. It's claustrophobic and easy to get cornered before dying.

I'd add some people to do this but I doubt my performance would be on par with their expectations, so it's best if I just do it alone. Obviously all I need to do is get through the waves because the boss will be easy regardless of difficulty. We're talking suicidal and HoE here.

Thanks a ton for any helpful information!

camping the spawn of thrills chills is an intense way of doing it. not impossible but very difficult.
Well I've always preferred long games. It was later that they changed it so you could get map achievements with short games. Because I've rarely played short games (usually just for an achievement) I don't know if you can get less or more money before the patriarch.
But like I said, the patriarch is not the problem. I can always find a spot near the trader to put down a bunch of pipe bombs, easy peasy.

I'll try some of the things suggested. I will say, normally I would use a hunting shotgun for the FP along with a couple of grenades. With less FP's appearing during solo play I could usually get away with that, but it depends on the map and the spawns. If one of the tactics mentioned above (or below?) gives me problems I'll see how favourable the map is when running around it.

Finally, pallO, you should try your own tactic on HoE! In solo play I don't think the difference between suicidal and HoE is huge if you know what you're doing. At least that's what it felt like when I did other maps before, the KFO ones too. I would, anyway, but that's fairly obvious because I just told you guys I want my 100% back. Har har.

EDIT: Derp. Thanks for the thoughts. I'm glad to see the discussion board is still alive, contrary to what I saw in the server browser last time I started up KF.

All maps 10 waves? ♥♥♥♥, that would be too long for me. I'd be okay with 7 waves though.

Completely understandable. But early on we were forced to do so, most of us didn't know different. Personally I just liked it more. Getting into a game early, spending as much time with a team as possible. I don't want to use the word "bonding", but I just enjoyed it more to finish a map (and perhaps more than one) with a team that I'd spent some time with. Also made it more likely that there'd be some conversation and perhaps even some people making friends.

That said, if it's easier to run a short game now for solo achievements, I'll definitely do that. The only way I see myself still playing KF with other people is if I can convince steam friends to install it again or for newbies to buy it. And most are looking at KF2 instead.
