This doesn't just go for tripwire, but it also goes for any future game devs. Read this intently, and understand why you should never appear exclusively left wing (or right wing, i'm sorry to say).

Political games and companies are hard to do right and still be successful. Not all games can be like Metal Gear. But even that game is kinda Apolitical in nature.

The recent actions of Tripwire have inadvertently taken a stand on one side of the political spectrum when they fired John Gibson. Another employee could have said "I'm pro choice, but respect your right to think differently" and restore a semblance of balance outside the developing community, but instead, he was fired. You are now a left-leaning studio. The difference between the right and left is that if you're a right leaning studio, you are guranteed a playerbase, but it's a fraction of what it could be ultimately. If you go left, you have given yourself an unobtainable mandate. I will provide examples.

Do you see a trend with companies that decide to take a socio-political stance on the left side? Whatever you do, will never be enough. If you apologize, it's not enough. You're supposed to provide more representation, you're supposed to prove through your wallet and your company and your projects that you mean what you say. But it's never enough. There's a reason that corporations that have done this quietly refer to it as the "Company Killer" or "Financial Death Sentence."

You have made half a playerbase feel unwanted and unwelcome through your actions. I pray that you can prove me wrong, and make the other half feel welcome. All because someone had a differing opinion. If you rehire him, and have someone with an opposing viewpoint in the company disagree with him publicly and respectfully, you may salvage this. But the damage seems so widespread, it may be too late. I loved Killing Floor2 , and I'll keep playing it, but this is a cancer in entertainment and companies. It's only a matter of time if something isn't done quick.
