INFINITE CONNECTION
we (me and my friend) decide to create a server to both of us start to do these achievements. ok, so i've try to make one and then, when him try to connect to it, he stayed in a "infinite connection". he says the screen stuck at "connecting" and nothing happens.

i don't know what to do. i've already opened the ports (all of them) and that's it. i really don't know what to do to make my friend connect to my own server for both of us playing together to grab those achievements.

help-me pleaseee :neon_sad:

Delete your steam_id.txt as a first try. If nothing happens, make sure all your ports are properly forwarded. If that also fails, just re-install the game.

Make sure you open ports for both udp and tcp

The problem is that your internal ip is not properly set for opening the ports. Check your ip config for your IPV4 number.
Basically it's like your friend visiting you in an apartment building, but going to the wrong apartment.

Delete ./KillingFloor/System/steam_appid.txt
or check ur TCP/UDP port

Your IPV4 address may have changed and you need to reserve it so that it doesn't change. You'll need to check your current IPV4 address to verify if your port settings need changed.

Assuming you have Windows 10, search for Command Prompt and open it. Then enter ipconfig. This will show you your ip configuration. Look for IPv4 Address. The ip address you see is your internal IPv4 Address. This is the internal ip address you need to use for opening your ports.

Then that's likely to be the problem, if you are using the IP you see in ipconfig, then your friend might be trying to connect to his own network...

Try this:
  1. Run the game server again.
  2. Open https://canyouseeme.org/ on your browser, it will show you your public IP there, for the port type in 7707 (that's the default port for Killing Floor servers).
  3. Click the Check Port button

That will tell you if your server is reachable or not.

If it is: give your friend the public IP from the box in the website.
if it's not: check your router/firewall settings to open/forward the port(s)

That's interesting being that I didn't know there was another way which would have an infinite connection as a result.
