If your point is that TDUSC will have a much smaller map than TDU2, then yes, absolutely. We found that out last year and a lot of people were disappointed.
The game isn't in all of Hong Kong, it's Hong Kong Island only... only a few square miles.
I didn't know that.
Ok, um, yeah wow... no words.
Remember the "1 hour" race in TDU? With a really fast car you could finish the race in about 40-50 min? Can't completely remember. Anyway I drove around the island in Motorfest and it only took me 20 min. So O'ahu is scaled down quiet a bit.
Knowing that I rather take a 1 to 1 scale smaller map like TDUSC instead of a scaled down map where you just feel it's not the size it should be. At least I am not that disapointed anymore as I was before. Still having some more places to drive around would've been nice.
I've seen other games claim 1 on 1 maps, but in reality they aren't, they're still converted to game 'measurements'. Anyway driving 80 km in my real car takes about an hour with speed limits. But... I'm not going to drive my real car in the game (actually I could since it might be in the game), I don't have to stick to speed limits. We'll see soon enough what beta people will report back.
Thats what I was worried about in Stalker2. For Stalker 2 the whole Zone is being included rather than dividing it into separate maps like the previous games. GSC gameworld said them selves that they had to scale it down a bit to make it fun as there would be alot of empty space between the city of Prypiat and everything surrounding it. So I did the measurements with google maps and the real exclusion zone distance from the small town where the cordon would be to the north river is 12km and on the leaked map in game its 8km. so even at 64km2 thats still pretty big to be travelling the whole map on foot. Though the CNPP is 1:1 scale and looks huge on the leaked map.
On foot 64km2 is plenty. By car, too little and TDUSC will only be 80 something km2.
Yeah but that was back when devs still had ambition.
