Anti-cheat for the 53 people that will play the game? They can gather them to a room and make them promise that they won't cheat! A kernel-level anti-cheat for an arcade game? Even their WRC games, which were crossing in sim racing territory, didn't have that (if they had an anti-cheat all...)

At this point, I'll put my tinfoil hat on and say that Nacon/KT want to shutdown the game altogether, because keeping up the servers for 122 people costs them a lot. They got our moneys from the pre-orders and golden editions, there are no more profits to be made from this (at this current state, at least), so, they are trying to close shop...

I never asked for anti cheat, and even if I did I wouldn’t have said SARD because I never heard of them before, and I don’t know how one could implement anti cheat. However, if the players disagree with such anti cheat method, or want Nacon/KT to FAQ it, and make sure it’s still playable on SteamDeck and Linux I’ll happily voice that. I’ve always given feedback on this game from what the community wants, especially after tbis disastrous launch.

Please don’t spread that idea that I am the reason for anti cheat, when I’m not. I want this game to improve and listen to the community as much as everyone else here. I told them before this game launched, S3 is weak, and thanks to the community backing that up, they are changing that to better align with community requests. Makes no sense for me to not advise KT of the community requests, because otherwise this game suffers a fate of no return, aka it gets scraped. TDU is, and should always be, a community derived game franchise.

The game already had a Linux unfriendly anti cheat so it's really not much worse but certainly not better

Think whatever of kernel level anti-cheats but don't spread lies about them breaking PCs. Those can't do anything but read files and services, they're unable to do anything to the system.
