Car handling
I'm thinking about buying this game and the comments on the handling are "scaring" me a little

one thing i remember from the old TDU is that in the settings you could change the handling to realistic but wasn't on by default for some reason.

can someone who has access to the game tell me if that setting is present in this one and how does the handling feels?

I'm only a couple hours in so I haven't unlocked the ability to choose tires. I assume that will make a big difference in handling.

What you do have right away is sliders for ABS and Traction Control. The default is 75% for each, I think. The default feel is arcade-like. You can tap the e-brake and get an easy controllable (yet short) drift. You can slam the brakes and navigate the corners pretty easily.

I tried setting both to 0% and then it felt much more realistic. Had to be careful and drive sensibly to keep the car under control. This is with the starter car (RWD).

Feedback on handling is very mixed, a lot of people don't like it, for some it's okay or even good. I personally am totally fine with it. They made some changes to handling since demo so it should be improved.

Overall I think it's hard to predict if you like it or not, you should try it yourself.

I enjoy it quite a lot! It is a TDU game to the heart/core.
The car handling in TDU: Solar Crown feels immersive-arcadish. It is no sim-cade but also not arcade like a NFS, FH5 and CarX:Street.
Drifting reminds me on the old DIRT series, but generally speaking the handling is very TDU-like.
Also hitting or bumping something, and driving off-road simply makes difference.
And on top there is no hippster ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at all.
...the more I drive the more I enjoy it. I recommend getting it. :peace:
Handling is very good , better than Forza with that arcade style but everyone thinks he is sim physic but is bad , TCM is a bit better than FH . So TDU offers something better than two of them.

I hated the handling when I just started this game.
This was also my first TD game, and I come from games like NFS / Crew / Forza Horizon where it just full speed all the time.

Now that I have some hours in the game and getting used to the handling, I gotta say I really enjoy it. If you turn off the assists it will be a lot harder, but it really depends on the car.

It feels very rewarding when you finally do get the hang of that handling / game physics and you start breaking leaderbords.
