my 3080ti can`t even do 1080p max settings at 60fps Lol this game is a joke and does not deserve the Test Drive name

I am doing 60+ fps at 5140x1440 with DLSS and almost every setting on high on an nvidia 4070 (not super or ti). My cpu is an i9-9900k overclocked to 4.7 mhz. Long story short: I am pumping out more than 5x the pixels you are at 60 fps so either your cpu is not up to the task or you have misconfigured your graphics settings.

Note: Although I did see a minor improvement with the latest patch (today), this game is still poorly optimized and it does OVER STRESS CPUs like very few other games. I actually had to drop my overclock to 4.7 mhz in order not to blue screen.

so much for the "performance" that they said will get better with the update.
I am on a 3090 and running the game on 1080p and still got drops to 40 or even 30 FPS.

Mmm again with the gaslighting I see.

The game on ultra runs like total ♥♥♥♥ and looks exactly as bad, it's just how it is.

What cpu are you using and is it overclocked?

also have a 9900k , it runs 60 but often drops and then goes back to 60 on 4K screen 1080p max settings except for blur and depth of field with dlaa

i7 9700k not overclocked.
I can run games that are grapicwise more demanding on 4K 60 FPS though it´s an older processor.

Indeed, I believe you can. I am only guessing that overclocking MIGHT give you a few more fps in TDUSC as it appears TDUSC places a disproportionate value on the cpu. But, clearly not worth it just for the few frames.

Either way, I do AGREE that optimization is way off the acceptable mark. I am wondering if the 40 series Nvidia just has a huge advantage in this title over the 30 series.

thinking of upgrading next year , maybe going from ddr4 to 5 and 14900K will fix it and later on i`ll switch to 5080gpu. Also a bunch of other games i have that run rough like Torque Drift 2

Nothing will help this garbage, soon-to-be-killed game, it simply runs like trash https://i.imgur.com/wRFGuGj.png, just move on with your life. The game will continuously dip in frames and stutter, it's simply horrible, your only remedy is bumping average FPS by lowering FPS, so worsening already bad visuals.

And please spare the "game looks gorgeous in 4k and DLAA", it does not, it's just smoothed the fk out of.

just tested gpu 70/80% cpu 40/50% and still this game goes from 60fps to 30 and i can see the gpu and cpu going down , this game is just a big unoptimized mess. or is it the 70ms ping that is messing everything up? i dont know what the hell is going on here .

Just to clarify, you've got the game on an NVMe?

You have to be careful with CPU usage because it might be hammering 1 thread.
You can check it in windows task manager if you go into performance and go into the detailed cpu report, it has graphs with all the cores.

No, it does not hammer one thread, it's consistent all core non-hyperthreaded load while doing nothing https://i.imgur.com/2LqiHjO.png and full blown all core while driving around https://i.imgur.com/J8GcobG.png, but the heavy CPU hitting is the effect of their implementation of Direct Storage. The Gdeflate is configured to bypass the GPU and the whole decompression is done on the CPU.

If we were using a 2x more powerful GPU, do you think the 1% lows would increase 2x, or be just as bad?
