First impressions of this game so far?
Okay, first of all, their servers really suck, like really bad, i get that there's loads of players trying to play at the same time, so it may overload the servers, but come on, this is ridiculous, its constant, i know its only a demo, i'm not the only one either.
Graphics, could do with a little optimisation, plenty of fps issues, the city itself, though only a demo, looks nice.

My impression of the crews you actually have to join, Sharps & Streets, are rubbish.
I don't find them interesting at all. Too Cliched.
This game is supposed to be set in Hong Kong city, also they couldn't find any local Hong Kong Chinese to star in the game? They could've just got some American Chinese to star in the game, that would've worked. But i haven't seen not one single Chinese face in the game so far. That's odd to me being that the game is based on Hong Kong city.

Sounds of the cars etc, is meh, okay i guess.

Another thing i don't like about the game is the handling, cars tend to oversteer too much especially at lower gears, especially 1st gear, for example i'm driving a Nissan 370z which is supposed to be a 4WD, handling is supposed to be very steady, but its not, i feel like the oversteer in this game has been tweaked too high, there's no way for me to adjust it.
The map looks nice & well designed like IRL, but for a TDU game, it just doesn't suit this type of game, which is supposed to be an open world racing game, it just doesn't feel the same as previous games. Its like the devs, took ideas from other recent games like the Crew, just threw it in in game. I don't know about anyone else, but this is the impressions i get when playing this game.

Or maybe its just me.

I also noticed there's no clothing shops, Tattoo shops, like in previous one TDU2. In TDU2, they had clothing shops, they even had hair salons to change your hairstyle, which was cool, also i don't see any option to buy any houses, i know its still a demo, still early days, these are things which were all open & accessable from the get go in previous TDU games. I hope clothing stores, hair salons, tattoo shops will come back in this game.

What are you guys think about this Demo so far?

- Agreed about the crews/groups/whatever-they-are-called, feels a bit forced & unneeded

- Lack of Asian NPC's is weird yeah, but sadly "normal" in games now, we've been getting English speaking Russians in shooters etc for ages, im not in any way shape or form justifying this, its sadly just a common thing for games to do a poor job at representing certain people these days 🤷‍♂️

- Im okay with the handling but i get why some people dont like it, its always been a somewhat odd mix of realism and arcade, in my opinion it works though

- I think the map lacks a bit of verticality compared to earlier games but overall im not unhappy with what we've got to see so far. I am surprised to learn they apparently have tunnels THAT long in HK tho, not sure that's correct? Also i cant be the only one that noticed several road signs & markers exist for right-lane-traffic in this left-lane-traffic world... 🤔

- You actually can change clothes & look (face & hair) at the "hotel"

-------------------------------

My impressions so far:

World: 9/10
(idk HK in real life so for as far as im aware this is good & i dont really see an issue with them making roads wider, its a racing game, we need space to overtake)

Cars: 9/10
(if its not there now it will never happen i think, but i want to be able to open the hood & do more with cars when im in my garage, opening doors isn't enough)

Player models: 4/10
(should require no explanation, gets a 4 for allowing us to change look & clothes but no higher because we're all potato heads)

NPC's & AI: 9/10
(the NPC's we get to interact with on foot look so much better than us, driving AI is decently tiered from noob to expert, traffic AI stick to their lanes well enough and i like that they actually try avoid crashes with you once you go fast instead of most games where they try cause them if you go fast)

Livery editor: 10.5/10
(This is great & where i spent at least a third of my time so far, but the UI could be a little better to make it 11/10, some options are extremely cumbersome to reach)

Mouse & KB controls: 8/10
(Decent for what they are, would be nice if the mouse controlled cam, but we all know we should play this with controller or wheel anyway so not much else to say here, 8/10 because it does work fine. I want text chat to be a thing btw)

Accommodation: 6/10
(Looks alright but i don't really want a hotel room, let me grind for a house that i can decorate, fingers crossed we can in full release)

Performance & connection: 8/10
(Im having no issues, i had a disconnect once in so far 8 hours of game time & my frames are solid, apparently this makes me a liar and a shill tho lmao, so that's why only 8 out of 10, some ppl do have issues and dev is pretty quiet about stuff)
