Races vs people rather than AI?

i read from someone here that races will only be against people rather than AI. i can't find an article from the devs that confirms this. can someone confirm this information?

i hope this won't be like NFS underground; there is no AI to race against in the online mode, so if you wanted race in a playlist, if nobody joins, then the race won't start at all.

another issue is the vast amount of trolls that want to slam into you and grief. please tell me you have the option to race against AI. if there is no AI racing i have to reconsider purchasing this.

Im just here hoping we'll get the same type of races we got in TDU2, I dont mind free-roaming with people, but when I race, I want to race AI and not people

This. Tired of PVP games and their toxicity. Not to mention the fact how hard will it be for people that arent good at racing to make money if they cant get it because therye not as good as the other players.

I think they need to rework how they do online multiplayer racing. If it's like in the demo you enter an event and wait. If you're super lucky you may get a real person to race against but most of the time it was against the AI. I reckon it should be like custom racing in Horizon where you choose the type of racing and car class. You're much more likely then to get real people to race again. Those that want to race the AI can navigate to a race on the map.

It was against the AI due to the amount of players... And I'd like an offline mode by default.
