Bring back turn-based combats

Please, I want to enjoy the story but I don't want to play Dark Souls.

Why everyone using that stupid "Dark Souls" to say something about game mechanics? You people don't know other games with battle system like that? Did you play Castlevania Lords Of Shadow 2 or Vampyr or many other games similar to that which I said? Then you'll see the same battle system (but without stamina). BTW Dark Souls is difficulty game, in Xuan Yuan 7 is easy to fight with enemies.

Weak attack, strong attack, dodge, parry, stamina management, martial arts, positioning, items...
It's too complex to be enjoyable. Add to that scarce save points that can go to Hell and it's a definitive game over for me.
You say that Xuan Yuan 7 is easy?
I died on easy because I don't care about all this stuff. I didn't come to have a real-time combat challenge, but to enjoy a story. Or I'd play a Street Fighter game.

The Gate of Firmament was fine as it was. Not too complex, not too easy. Just right.

I think Gate Of Firmament was for sure too easy game, unfortunately there was so many ways to make game easy so much. On Xuan Yuan 7 I finished demo twice on Normal difficulty. I think action RPG is not games for you, so maybe not try to play YS Oath In Felgana and trying to make all achievements or something, because there's something like "Boss Rush on Nightmare" so if you want turn based battle system etc, then I can recommend you Sword And Fairy 6 or Tales Of HongYuan, that is Chinese Games available on steam with turn base system.

When I was younger, I probably wouldn't have minded a complex ARPG fighting system, but not anymore.
I heard good things about the YS games, but I stayed away from them because of the real time combats...

At least, there are games for everyone so we can all be happy!

In Gate of Firmament, you can get through 95% of the game by spamming ice attack. It's not only too easy, but it's not fun. If they are considering to make another turn based rpg, they have to invest in the time to make the system actually balanced and interesting.

Sword and Fairy 6 I bought on bundle, so this game key should be cheap and I bought that game on PS4 too, but there is optimalization sooo horrible, so better play that on PC, interesting story, you can use Active Time Battle and non active time battle, so it's good :P Tales Of HongYuan was good game too, but few things was not fully for me, so sometimes I felt not satisfy when played that game xD When I was younger (now I'm 30 yo) then I preffered Turn Based System, now prefer ARPG :P YS is good series, but not for everyone, for example until today I not played YS VIII even if I bought that game half year ago xD

But I utterly LOATH turn based combat.
The fact that they have chosen to make BG3 (which was always RT combat) into TB has ruined the new Baldurs gate, which I will never buy now.

(Well that and the ridiculous detailed, hetro and ♥♥♥♥ sexual, karma sutra sexual system.
They felt the need to shoehorn into a Baldures Gate game. For reasons passing understanding.
Im all for some sauce, but that kind of asinine deviance in a BG game is just silly.

But back to Turn Base, its just so unrealistic, so immersion breaking.
I honestly have zero idea why anyone likes it.

Shadow Tactics, Pathfinder Kingmaker, The POE games and on and on, are all incredible with real time combat.

Last point.
I ALWAYS love when there is choice, the option f having another way of playing so everyone can enjoy.
So not in any way saying please dont add TB.
Just as in TB only games I wish they would add Real Time. For those of us who hate TB.

You can never find the same depth in real time compared to turn-based, especially when you manage a party.

I agree. I was looking forward to a polished turn based game with a great story line. This half baked action RPG is pretty underwhelming. The fun of party building is probably down the drain as well.

They could have made it an epic turn based game but they had to chase the trend of current action RPGs and ended up with a subpar combat most likely. To be honest, action RPGs have already been over saturated for a while imo. I believe there are a lot of people like me who is looking for something different. (and yes, turn based RPG is pretty scarce now to be considered different)
