So there's six games before this one?

Played the demo and it seems like a standalone story, is this kinda like FF where each game have nothing do with each other? Also where are the other titles of the series?

I looked this up, this series stretches back 30 years with 13 or so titles.

Were the others ever released in North America? It's always mesmerizing when some long-running series like this comes along that I've never heard of before (and I've been gaming all over since the late 80's).

That's a good start, though they sure did a good job of hiding it with that title. There's a thread there where someone explains the older games releases and availability as well.

Yeah, this franchise is apparently (almost) as old as FF series, they had titles came along at the same time back to 90s, 20s.

Also btw, Xuan Yuan actually has some meanings in Chinese, its the name of the first emperor who build the oldest dynasty of China. So its like the title is like...the sword of the emperor of China

The most popular title in China is Third Legend but that's very old 2d game released on 2001, somehow it can say that title in Xuanyuan Sword franchise is most classic as like FF7 in FF franchise

within the game "the gate of firmament", towards the end of the game you are able visit special place (if you helped all the lost beings out...you will know them when you see them, they look out of place.) that shows all past games in different ways...like visiting an musenum(ms) plus had mini games and small mystery solving event too and prizes there.
