Ladder Bug | Game-Breaking, can't progress

Near (what I presume is) the end of the water treatment facility, there is a very tall ladder that you need to climb down.
For some reason my character will not grab the ladder. I've tried all my buttons and nothing works.
So I'm just stuck there because you die if you fall or jump down without using the ladder.

I had the same issue near the end of the game, on top of a water tower. I was thinking I'm done with the game but after 14-15 attempts I was able to grab the ladder. I played with controller and I realized I had to push the analog stick at very specific angle to be able to grab the ladder. Really annoying issue, fortunately I was able to finish the game.

I loaded the game back up hours later and it happened to work when I pressed my S key (the down button).
So I'm not really sure why it didn't work before, since I tried almost every button on my keyboard.
I suppose it's possible my S key was being sticky and I just didn't notice.

Either way this seems like an area for potential quality of life improvement.
If the character just grabbed the ladder automatically it would feel much more natural and avoid any weirdness.

With controller you grab ladders automatically but I also had this issue.

I don't think you do automatically grab it with controller. I planned to grab one ladder early on - on a ladder that wasn't deadly-high. I ended up just walking off the edge. Found out I had to press down at the top edge to grab it, which worked the one time I needed it to: the water tower.

You can use the "down" key or "LS down" to grab the ladder. But thanks for your feedback! We'll look into making this a bit more clear.
