It would probably be better off sold for $20 usd but as you can tell lots of effort was put into it. In regards to stutters I'm not having any but I'm also on a 4090.
Also, turning the ship speed all the way up to 6 and using the d-pad to tap micro dodge works wonderfully for some of the late boss bullet patterns. Nothing here feels Euro to me at all and I've played lots of Euros.
I actually requested a refund because i couldn't see myself ever playing this again.
If you like it, more power to you, happy for you.
Personally, probably one of the worst SHMUP's i played in recent years.
But that's the crux with taste i guess.
there is a clever risk and reward dynamic to be found in how it all works into another, even the lifebar, even the noncheckpoints and even the on first sight bloaded lookin controller setup as so the long stages. stage 1 feels like a complete run in usual shmups and it's worth sticking in it for a while instead of rushing through all stages.
it's so intense and rewarding when you are at the last boss on stage 1 with no revives left and only 2 shieldbars and the boss on his last 3 percent seeing him uploading his laserbeams.
One mans trash, another mans treasure
It just happens that CYGNI follows every design decision i don't like in a SHMUP.
If others love it, fantastic!
I most definitely don't :D
i know, that exactly was the point
anyway, as a finishing word from me... i was in the exact same boat as you and had zero hopes the last days before release.
on a side note, as soon as i (just like you, it seems) was aware of Keelworks animation-background and lack of knowldege in gamedesign i instantly gave up all hopes. but i was wrong.
tbh... i believe there must have been a time during development when somone from konami with knowledge intervened to flesh some things out. it really is that well worked out that i asked myself how should they even know without any experience.
i'm not saying it's genius work... but there are nuances and details to be found and they just work well together ...if someone wants to see them.
this and all the callouts (not you) on epic for promoting this game for a weeklong giveaway. we don't need to be fans of epic and there store-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but ignoring that they financially supported tue devs, which use their engine, isn't that hard to understand.
but all they do is complain... i know. i also did that :D
