FAQ
Release date?
November 18, 2020

Platforms?
PC, Linux, MacOS

Multiplayer?
Currently we are focused on the singleplayer aspect of the game.

How will mods work?
At the player’s disposal will be a set of powerful tools that will enable the creation of nationalities, units, maps, events - basically the ability to design a whole new scenario within the world of Realpolitiks - the scenario can include even custom graphics, sound, etc.

Demo?
At this time we do not have a demo version for the game, although it does not mean we won’t decide to make one before Realpolitiks II launches in fall.

Languages?
  • English
  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Polish
  • Russian
There is also a possibility to include more languages, but at this time these are the ones that will be available for the player come launch day.

Wiki?
We’ve heard that a Realpolitiks Wiki was something the players wanted and we are looking into that request. We will definitely share more details about a potential Wiki in the near future. Also, on the launch day we will release a series of tutorial videos, so players can learn the essential parts of the game.

What are the key differences and improvements compared to Realpolitiks 1?
With Realpolitiks II we are expanding on all aspects of the previous title, which means there’s going to be improved diplomacy, a whole new battle system, placing buildings, units on the map, improved AI, more scenarios, different victory conditions, about 1000 new events and 1000 new technologies, and a whole lot more. Realpolitiks II will also be visually upgraded compared to the first game, and we are going to feature a complete mod tool that will allow players to create their own content ranging from units to nations to whole scenarios.

Is the game more of a sim or arcade game?
It has a very nice balance between the two, but the game definitely shifts more towards simulation with how we tackle issues like poverty, terrorism, migrations etc.

What are your options in terms of leading the country?
As the leader of a country you will be able to change the political system based on your needs, though you have to take into account the happiness of your citizens. You will also be able to declare wars, create blocs, make alliances, send out spies, improve diplomatic relations, trade agreements and a whole lot more.

Can you create your own country with flag and such?
That would be up to the mod tool where you will be able to create your own flag if you so desire as there is a dedicated flag creation system, your creativity is your only limit. You can also create a flag and nation during your current campaign/scenario: You can create neighboring nations by liberating a couple of your provinces or you can order your enemy to create a new nation on his own region - not only do you decide of the nation’s flag and name in-game, but you can even abandon your country and continue the game as that new nation - whether as an ally, or an enemy of the country you just abandoned. As far as the sole flag creation process you will be restricted to what the game offers in terms of templates (just like in the first Realpolitiks). Worth remembering is the fact that you can change the name and flag of your nation anytime during the game.

Can you create your own leader?
There is no leader per se in Realpolitiks II as you are the nation itself. However, you can create an advisor via the Mod Tool and then look up to him for guidance.

Does the in-game events reflect real-life events of the modern era?
Realpolitiks II will have events that would be considered ‘what-if’ opportunities, but the vast majority will be reflected be real-life events of our modern era.

So are you guys going to make the whole COVID-19 thing a really big thing in this game? And maybe teenage climate change protestation?

Will blocs return?

If so, will they:
be expanded upon
introduce real world blocs such as the AU, CIS, EU, NATO, ASEAN etc
bias towards forming regional blocs with neighbours?

In the original game, annexing block members was way too easy. That might be a big thing to think about with this sequel.
Why is there no Chinese?

Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay, here are some answers to your comments (and thanks for posting them, we really appreciate it!):

Q: "So are you guys going to make the whole COVID-19 thing a really big thing in this game? And maybe teenage climate change protestation?"

A: We pay close attention to all worldwide events, I think you should be satisfied with the result in the game :)

Q: "Will blocs return?

If so, will they:
be expanded upon
introduce real world blocs such as the AU, CIS, EU, NATO, ASEAN etc
bias towards forming regional blocs with neighbours?"

A: They will return and they will be more advanced than the ones in Realpolitiks 1. Though, we would like to point out that the general rule will remain the same meaning - one country - one bloc. So there won't be NATO, EU, at least at this time.

Q: "In the original game, annexing block members was way too easy. That might be a big thing to think about with this sequel."

A: It is a big thing and it is constantly on our minds while developing Realpolitiks 2. Rest assured, we're always testing new and old ideas :)

Q: "Why is there no Chinese?"

A: We assume you mean the language? We've got Chinese covered in Realpolitiks 2 :)

If you have any other questions feel free to drop them here and we will do our best to answer them! Realpolitiks 2 is coming and we would like to thank you for your commitment to the game, you guys are the best! :)

Cheers!

Will annexation improve? In the first part, the complete, one-time capture of the country was sorely lacking;( In the new part, I would like to see a new system of peace treaties. Greetings from fans from Russia!

will you be able to take more in peace treaties?

Q: Will annexation improve?
A: Yes - we developed the system of annexation as well as the whole system of blocks and pacts.

Q: Will you be able to take more in peace treaties?
A: Could you please specify the question? As for the possibilities of peace proposals, we have planned many more options for you to choose.

Hello, I like real politics very much. Many problems in the first part of the game have been solved in the second part. For example, AI is too weak and expansibility is not high. For example, the alliance and diplomatic system are too simple. I hope to get a better experience in the second part. Of course, I still have some expectations. If you can join multi person online, if you can add Chinese translation, it will be perfect:bar_truck:

If I can, I really hope to have online mode (LAN online is also good), although this is not a realistic wish:FallFlat:

Will we be able to control other countries whether it be through political, cultural, or economic means? Will we also be able to turn our nation into a technological superpower? I'm super existed for this game lol
