I think he have a point... I mean maybe steam have to spend some time to update little problems like this so people do no thave to get mad trying to make games work, after all they make money from them; buy the way the comunity wort it chek my way to solve the grafical problem to...

I had the same problem and found the solution on the thread for the same problem only for Windows 7. You have to turn the compatibility for every .exe in the PortRoyale2 file, exept the deinstallation .exe to Windows98/Me. If you than have problems with how the Water is displayed, use the compatiblymode for water in the configuration.exe.
That worked for me.

Just set screen resolution to 1024x768 and settings to recommended.
That's all it need.

A mi al principio me salia el agua totalmente pixelada y un desplazamiento de camara ultra rapido e inmanejable, despues simplemente iniciaba pero se quedaba petado sin salirme ninguno de los carteles del menu del juego, al final funciono tras bastantes intentos, lo que hice:

- Abri la carpeta donde tengo instalado el juego en steam
- inicias el PR2Config
- Le das a recommended y desmarcas "Execute in full screen" y OK
- Desde la carpeta donde estña instalado el juego, inicias el juego como administrador y deberia fufar, suerte!

PD: alguna noticia de parches en español para este juego?

I had a heck of a time trying to get this game to run on WIN 10 64-Bit but I finally did!

I have an Alienware 15 laptop, NVidia GTX 980, and a 21:9 monitor (2560x1080).

To get it to work I:
1. Set PR2.exe, PR2Config.exe, and Ascaron.Exception.exe to run Win 98/Me compatibility.
2. Added PR2.exe to the nvidia control panel and set it to run Integrated Graphics only.
3. Set my screen resolution to 1920x1080 then turned off Fullscreen in the PR2Config. It was crashing trying to switch to fullscreen mode. I didn't HAVE to lower my resolution, it ran at 21:9 but everything was so stretched it wasn't worth playing. The key here was turning off the flip to fullscreen.

Then it worked!

More hints:
The DEP stuff people talked about did nothing for me.
Turning on everything else in the PR2Config helped and made the water stop flashing

Te que estaba igual de frustrado que tu hasta que por fin hoy lo he hecho funcionar. Yo tenia modo compatibilidad de Win98 pero no funciona. TIENES QUE USAR MODO COMPATIBILIDAD CON 'WINDOWS XP (SERVIDE PACK 2)'.

Tras aplicar los cambios de compatibilidad me funciona perfectamente en windows 10 con un pentium y gráfica integrada.

Hello I can't run config.exe, The game used to work month ago but now doesn't. The game starts but then appear this error about time and closes. I tried everythink what was told. Any ideas?

P.S water used to look fine then it start to look awfull, now i can't even play
