How to Save?

I have no idea how to save this game and I've been trying to look online for hours. Anyone have any luck with this?

I wish I knew as well. You would have thought this game would have some kind of menu interface or at the very least a read me file. It's not very user friendly the way they just drop you into the game without any instruction whatsoever.

Yeah, I lost some progress not really sure how to save...

I thought it did fine in explaining the general position of basic gameplay features. Just click the girl or the guy and then you get to those, and click the green communicator to talk to the HQ lady.

But in terms of any settings or saving, I have no clue. Surely there is saving given it starts with you starting a 'profile' of sorts and what feels like what would be a load screen.

I am not expecting them to make a complete overhaul of the game to work best on modern computers with modern game UI sensibilities. But something basic like an ESC to open an save/options/quit menu is a must. This game is pretty unplayable without being able to adjust things like resolution and volume. And having easy to locate save and exit options are mandatory.

Found a manual, and it says the exit the game button [on the dude's vest] is the save button... but that does nothing. I tried that initially and it didn't save so figured it was some other way. Just tried it again after beating the first mission and still didn't work.

So either this manual is wrong, or the game just fails to save properly.

I looked elsewhere and couldn't really find info on it, other than a useless IGN walkthrough that just said the guy character was used to save [not how], but they also said that communicator/boss lady was also the save... even found some question asking site of some teacher who asked about it, and the answer had nothing at all to do with saving just reinstalling the game for some reason... lol

I take it no one has figured this out yet? I tried some different compatibility settings but haven't found anything that allows the save function to work. Game is pretty useless without being able to save.

I clicked on the button on the dude's vest to exit. I reopened my game to see if it saved, and it did. So I am not sure if it is only working for some people and not all.

That definitely doesn't work for me. Every time I exit (clicking on the guys vest), I lose all progress. When i play again, my player ID has not been saved nor is any game progress. It is interesting that it works for you. I'll probably just request a refund as I can't seem to find any setting to tweak to make it work on my computer. Thank you, though, for your response!

It flat out does nothing for me. As I've said. I don't think it works properly and I'm not sure the issue. It's interesting that it works for you though.

It worked auto-saving up until Kenya, (with the vest-button or just with hard-quitting), but then after that all progress is lost no matter how many new locations you go to or how you exit the game. :/

This is so frustrating. I've played on from the Russian scene twice now without it saving. I'm about to give up on this game. How is there not a save feature? The green button on his vest does not work for me. :/

if its still not working, contact the developers or publishers
many of them have websites setup and this being an bigger name most likely does.
theyll be able to fix it hopefully

This is for sure an issue with the re-release. The OG Treasures Of Knowledge saved automatically as you progressed and the green button on Hawkins' vest is the quit option. I played straight through mission 6 and upon returning to the game the next day my name was not even available to select from the beginning menu. Hot tip for anyone who just wants to rush through the game (especially if you're just trying to catch up to where you meant to save), the space bar will skip cut scenes, dialogue, flights, etc. It's a kid's game so completing missions you already finished before with the space bar takes no time at all. VERY annoying for a $10 game though! They need to fix this!

If the save system worked before the re-release, it makes me wonder how the game was coded. I wonder if the game being released on steam is partly where the fault lies, such as people playing the game via owned library vs family library. The other theory I have is, what OS is being used by both people being able to save vs people who can't.

I think it's auto saved but my game crashed a few times and I have to start from day 1 again super annoyed
