Watering all plants doesn't leave much time free

I'm only on my 1st year, about 15 days in. I don't get much time left for exploring the forest cave or checking out the animals etc. Any tips on how to manage the day?

later you can get craft irrigation it will auto water from right and left side i still didnt get it yet

If you need to manage plants early on before irrigation the best thing to do is limit the amount of plants you have. I started out by setting up enough plants so that I could get them all watered by 9am and I grew things I needed to level that season. Irrigation is so late game I wouldn't be on it until you got it. I got it quickly but I general don't causal my way through games

Grow less crops. If you're spending all day watering, you have way too many. Aim more towards experiencing a little bit of everything, so try to scale it back so the watering is more manageable. You can ramp it back up as you get more tools to help you with watering. I'm usually done with watering by 10 - 11 am

The blue fertiliser can be a real help too (if you can make it in large enough amounts) as it saves a whole day of watering every other day. Also it remains after each harvest and for the whole season.

If you are concerned for contribution: In my opinion the best way to gain contribution until tools are upgraded to obsidian tier ist .... catching and drying fish.

Early game is good for growing for food and making new things to progress. I wouldnt worry so much about doing a lot. I also give as gifts. Most people like it and while it may not be as successful as something fancy it works in the longrun done consistently. Also good for contribution but again as others said dont worry so much..just do some. Later when you get irrigation you can grow much easier.

Sundried tomatoes are super easy to get and tomatoes are great to focus on early you will have too much stamina to use.

how ? It is greyed out for me. It only says recommended (15 minutes)

You can only change it from the main menu of the game (before loading your save or starting a new game).
