Saved games missing off my steam deck

I had two games saved on my steam deck, however when I turned on my steam deck both games are now missing and the only option is new game. I had properly exited the game. before shutting of the steam deck. Just wondering if anyone with steam deck is having this problem?

The same thing happened to me this morning. I did switch to my PC and it said the cloud sync was not right so I didnt boot the game. Went back to my Steam deck to close the game and my save file is gone!

I'm having the same issue on my steamdeck and honestly the directions were not clear on the pinned post. Atleast to me anyway

I've gotten as far as finding the file they want me to copy, but can't seem to get to the location you're supposed to copy it TO. I have no clue about Linux, and the Steam deck (while I love it) is awful when it comes to dealing with files (no automatic keyboard? Really?).

We copied the save file from home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1245560/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Soda Den/Roots of Pacha/saves & put it into the ~/.config/unity3d/Soda Den/Roots of Pacha/saves/. It is still not working. Many others are having the same issue. Could you give any explanation? To be sure, you want us to right click the file, copy it and paste it into ~/.config/unity3d/Soda Den/Roots of Pacha/saves/? The part about it being "just the numbers" is throwing us off. From what I've read we did everything correct and it is still not bringing back the save.

same here, was able to copy the save files, but couldn't find the folder where its supposed to go to.

We just uploaded an update for Steam Deck to recover your save files automatically.

We haven't made the update available to everyone, but you can access it through Steam Betas and select steam-deck-beta - Steam Deck Beta.

This video shows how to access to the Betas section on the Deck.

The next time you enter the game, if you had not created any new save file after your saves were missing, your files should be restored.

This worked for me, I can see my save game now when I start the game!

I had tried creating a new file to check the game was still working, so the update won't work. What should I do instead?

You can delete the new game file and close/reopen the game. If that doesn't work please reach to [e-mail]
