Obsidian idea bugged

In multiplayer, the game host didn't know where to place the building you get from obsidian research so they closed the tab. Now we can't advance with obsidian tools and there's no option to upgrade. It says "research done" in the journal but nobody can interact with her about the idea or anything.

Any ideas? we have already reloaded a few times!

Did you check if the builder has the building plan available? At least all buildings come visible to him after you place them after the researching...
