Animals should change to their domesticated versions

Does anyone else feel like this should be a thing? Like if you breed 2 maxed out animals they should have the domesticated version which produces better/different stuff? This would add a much longer life to the end game - I've only been playing for a bit and have almost finished the main story. I really like the game and just don't want to run out of stuff!

The Game is not "finished" yet.
They released it in a "finished" state, but the Game was kickstarted. And with the Release of the Game, they said, that there gonna patch in a lot, if not all Kickstarter Steps. One of them is exactly what youre looking for^^

I'm interested in seeing what happens then. But this seems like even more postgame then endgame. At the point when you maxed out all animals the game has probably just become a constant repetition and grind.

Honestly, I'd rather they release a pretty good feature-complete game then support it post-release than spend like eight years in Early Access! Functionally it's the same end result but optically it just looks more professional, like they have more faith in their core product.
