How do I get Herbs into my Food?

I try to complete the Phrophecies, but I cant figure out how to get the
"They aged and added spices to the food they kept" Quest done.
Can you Guys explain it to me?

Later in the Game, for me it was end of summer or start of Autumn, youre getting a new processing Machine which can combine things like "Cheese" + "Herb"

You can combine them in the cask.
