Too much Resource-Variaty??
I am not really much of a complainer, infact i really like the game but why in the world does it need so many rarities on crops, meals, drinks, fur, actually almost everything comes with a rarity between wild and best ...sure the selling price depends on the rarity but am i really the only one who thinks thats way too much??

Yes, you are the only one. If anything the common consensus is that refining any kind of material is absolutely useless. The only animals I'm bothering to breed now are boars for their fur and ibex for the milk.

Well i pretty much doubt i am the only one...when there are some smart people out there they would ask themself...Why do we need different kinds of Honey...Honey is Honey...there shouldnt be sorts like ..Tomato-Honey, Carrot Honey and all the stuff and the lines go further to Tomato or Carrot Mead. Or Tomato-Wine and all the other Stuff thats pretty pointless.

You're not the only one, I find the plant farming system annoying too, due to all the raritys and limited time per day vs plant Yields and all the micromanagement with farming and its resources I have 3 Farming chest with 2 almost full on verity alone of rarity and farm plant types going to donate it all after I finish that temple thing and 100% sure i dont need them.

Then there is also each plant leveling on top of what i said above too....
so ya, I made a small garden and after this first year seasons i'm choosing 4 plants i'm going to focus on only per each season for the rest of the game years and focus more on Goats for Cheese and only have a small plant garden cause I don't want to have to grow all these diffrent plants and micromanage them.

Yep gonna Second this: Youre not the only One :-D

I like the difference between Wild and Domesticated Crops, i like the Different Honeys aswell, thats just how it is ^^
But to have 4 Spaces taken everytime i harvest a different Crop is really Painful. Even if a Crop is "maxed" out youre getting 4 different Kinds of rarities which is a bit Questionable.

I would have nothing against it, if the same Crop, but different Rarities would share the same Resource Slot

You know...dont get me wrong guys. I like the game itself and the idea of how the village improves over time. Every Vegetable or fruit comes in 4 rarities, same with feathers, fur, eggs and yeah even honey which comes also in different fruit sorts depending on what crops you got nearby...sorry to say that but thats just stupid...even a Developer should realise that at some point. Sure you could just focus on one or two crops but as long you not going for fur only its different.

Maybe the game is not for you then.

Not to mention resource yield for fruit and vegetables is extremely stingy. Trees producing a single resource. What irks me the most is that the crops you grow don't give you seed of their own. They have to be found in the wild or purchased from the nursery. The achievement to get level 5 knowledge for every crop is going to be such a grind.

Naah its alright.
With every Knowledge Level the Seeds you can buy get multiplied by 2x.

You start with 8 Seeds Daily, but on Lvl 3 your already on 32 you can buy.
Until the first Harvest its a bit slowly, but after then it runs.
I just harvested Seeds for 1-3 Days into a new Season then it was over ^^

Thank you for the most useless category of comment.

Ikr. There has to be some compensation/balance for putting the player with so many different qualities of product but like the first comment said, even processing and refining any farm crops has a small 5-20 contribution difference making farming the most useless prospect in a game where your tasked with helping the community settle through farming.

Animal products and fishing is the way 2 go unless for quest objectives (and totem/achievements). Major rebalancing necessary

The benefit to this vareity is you only need to grow what you want. If there is to many furs only deal with one, if there are to many crops just grow what you want, if there are to many dishes ect ect. You can grow and pick the animals, drinks and meals you want.

I think there is to much too. I really liked the distinction between wild and normal crops and thought that was a great idea and very immersive for the way humans domesticated plants...but you level up out of wild so fast! Now you have like 4 types of shiny for the same damn tomato which come semi randomly and feels gamey. It would have been better if knowledge came a bit slower and let you get the normal version, then you'd have to actually do things to get a good quality like actually use the fertilizer.
infektedsyringe Apr 30, 2023 @ 3:57pm
Guys... literally every single game in this genre is like this... It's to denote quality and a sense of progression so as you become a better farmer your crops/animal products are worth more. If you keep at is soon you'll only be pulling 2 quality types anyways (the two highest). It just comes with the territory.
Blackstone30 May 1, 2023 @ 2:49am
You dont become a better farmer in RoP. Sure you get some tools that might help with your crops like the compost but even this is way too stupid. I mean why do i need so many different kinds of fertilizer?? Just stick with the normal 2 manure fertilizer. No need for Feathers and other crap.
Why in the world do beehives gimme different kinds of honey depending on crops in the range. Just gimme raw honey. No Tomato/Strawberry or any other sort of Honey.
And in the end i dont see anything wrong talking about this as a problem.
Sure some might later in the game just focus on Fur since you make alot money with it but there are also still some players like me playing the good old farmers...
i can tell i have 7 Fields with 18 plots each. And i try to grow everything.

Maybe this can be a switchable option in menu. When at start you choose that you will only get wild and basic quality and everyone will be happy.
You want it you switch it on in meny. You don't like it switch it off.
