Obsidian!

Hey friends, trying to get a little info here - google brought me no information.

My boyfriend owns the game and is loving playing it but is growing slightly frustrating bc he cannot figure out where to get obsidian. I'm trying to find it to surprise him and help him out but I can't find it either!

He's done the owl trial in the cave but cant figure out how to progress further. We suspect the obsidian is further in the cave but don't know how to access the monkey portion. Any tips?

Once you finished the Owl trial, you can go back a few rooms (I think it was opened before the trial) and find an Owl circle. You can then fly with your owl form to a new platform, over the water, and from there you can keep discovering rooms and will find obsidian pretty quickly. We're in Summer Y1.

Dang already in Winter and no Obsidian Tools, i would get frustrated aswell >.<

Yeah like Roxi said, a few Rooms back is an Owl Circle on the Ground there you can fly to a new Portion of the Mine.
Then everything repeats, you uncover new Rooms, getting new Materials find new Wallpaintings for Trialhints, maybe find a new Monkey Circle but cant use it until you cleared the Trial and so on.
With the Owl Trial you unlocked the Map (M) aswell in the Caves, have a lookout for a Room with an adjacent undiscovered Room (looks a little like an arrow) with this its easy to find new ways (don't forget, you guys need to break a few Rocks in a new Room to unlock the next on, sometimes a Room can even have more then 1 Exit, which means more breaking rocks in one Room)

Hey y'all, thanks for the advice! I believe after he got the owl he went to a flight training room? Just to the left after the first few rooms, and he was able to fly to a platform and collect mushrooms but couldn't find the way beyond that as he required a monkey power

He got to far Back.
Thats a Room for later, which combines all Totems.

I believe the Platform your looking for is 2 Rooms left of the Owl Teleport Room, or 2 Rooms right to the the first Teleport Room, on the top left should be an owl platform if i remember right ^^

Generally each new level of tools is unlocked by progressing further into the caves, I will say one thing, make sure you have flour of some kind, honey, wine, and milk (cheese actually but you need to make milk and ferment it to unlock cheese) for totems further on.

After you finshed the owl trail and you spoke to the glyptodod you also got a map to the caves. You can access it by pressing "m" while in the cave and it shows which room you currently are in and which rooms contain doors. That makes it a lot easier to see where you have to go.
