Warning for Winter.
Don't preemptively clear a large portion of land unless you plan on using it. Once winter rolls around practically all the sticks and stones and weeds you've been clearing will come back.

It seems like they respawn every season

Seems like they respawn every (few) day(s). I keep having to clear the same spaces over and over and I'm still in first season.

Use your Fences/Paths and till the Ground to save your freshly cleared Field.
I sickled my way through the Northern Region to get Fiber and used simple Dirt Paths for my Borders and just tilled the Ground instantly, my Fields stayed the same Way, without newly spawned Rocks and Branches until the Winter.
No Fences and Pathes were broken but i got a few new Spawns, but it was managable :-)

I didn't have that issue in the section I cleared for my animals. But that could be because I let the grass you can walk through take it over. The problem with winter is all that walkable grass disappears and leaves you with noplace safe from sticks + stones + tree stumps + giant rocks that magically appear after you destroyed them already.

I posted about this the other day and someone said it only happens when it changes from autumn to winter, but nope. Just now went from winter to spring and literally everything I had cleared in the winter came back. I absolutely HATE this. It's ugly, it's not fun to clear it over and over again. Imo the "solution" being to till the entire field is also stupid. I'm aware these are resources that are required for a ton of stuff in game so just add an npc that can sell you wood and stone. Problem solved. I've now cleared field #2 twice only to have my work mean nothing. I'm sure I sound pissy and that's because I am.

Its not too bad now that my animals are taking care of all the weeds so I only have to get rid of the stone and wood.

I expected a bunch of regrowth, but not literally my entire field being completely refilled. Why??

Grass seems to be set to grow around debris (rocks, branches, stumps and weeds) and itself. So it's spreading from a source, which you need to remove or block off perhaps. If you remove everything completely, grass will not spawn anymore, but will resume when the field is peppered during a season change. You might be able to fence off the growth, as I don't think they will jump tiles to spread. They definitely didn't over my 3 tiles wide paths.

The year change from winter to spring seemed to be a larger dumping of debris and grass, most tiles not occupied were filled. Many tilled tiles had rocks or branches placed on them, but nowhere near the degree of the small parts left empty. I had filled out my farm on field #2 during that winter season, so it wasn't terrible. Between paths, irrigation, fences etc, Your farm should cover quite a bit, it's also recommended to build foundations under where you do your storage and processing. I think the expectation was that between having good amount of automation and processing, maintaining very large farms is practical and would commonly be done.
