I've broken every rock in the not-blacked-out area of "Stomp your feet" without ever seeing the door-opening animation. I've scraped my face up and down both sides of the only lit area of the cave. Since seeing your reply I've done all of the above again and passed out in the cave again looking for a way to "move forwards".
Edit to add: In the darkness I have at least *noticed* the puddles/splashing, which I assume is the clue which is supposed to lead through the cave, based on the name... but the water doesn't seem to *lead* anywhere. At least, as far as I've figured out in several long days of wandering around in the dark.
After completing the Monkey challenge, in a room two (2) rooms West of the Beach entrance, there is a Northern exit not marked on the map. I had traversed the room several times, broken many rocks, but apparently never broken *enough* rocks to open the Northern door--and the fact it wasn't marked on the map was a major misdirection for me. I was easily able to progress from there to the Clouds Garden and back around to the West entrance of Stomp Your Feet.
Currently paused just after reaching that room, so not sure how difficult it will actually be from there. Since just walking into the darkness is stressing me out at this point, I'll probably come back some time after getting copper tools and passing the room North of Clouds Garden. Anything but this stupid dark room. Based on what I can see on the map, it's the Clouds Garden path, not Stomp Your Feet, which leads to the Bear totem. In fact, the 3rd/final clue is in between the unmarked path and the Clouds Garden!
Your not the only one. The devs seem to have made these challenges actually challenging both logically and mentally... This game cannot be classified as a casual game. Stardew valley a child could play with some occasional tips from a parent/adult... Roots of Pacha even an adult needs to refer to guides and walkthroughs just so as to avoid going insane with these winding paths and annoying logic puzzles.
+1
From "Pacha's pair of rocks" room, travel left through 3 more rooms. There are a set of roots you need to water in the third room you come to open a path to an area below. Once you break the required number of rocks, the door the the bear room will open. You can find a map screenshot in my profile
