Do animals grow up? / Feeding?

I've got both farm animals and pets, none of which show any signs of growing up.
Is it just a "be patient and wait" deal, or is there something else I can do?

Also I've heard you can feed the farm animals by hand, but I never get the option?
I can feed my pet wolf just fine though. :/

I took in a little wild Ibex and, at some point, she grew up! So yes, they do grow over time but it might vary by animal.

Farm animals grow up but pets don't. Some of the adult pets would be too big for your house, so they just don't have pets grow up.

I really wish the cave lions grew up into the big ones you can see on the cliff of the savanna, having a cave lion mount would be cool as hell

farm animals only eat grains and grass fibers, so if you have either of those you can hand feed them. The option wont come up if they've already eaten and are well-fed though

farm animals only eat grains and grass fibers, so if you have either of those you can hand feed them. The option wont come up if they've already eaten and are well-fed though

Ahh okay, I thought I might be able to give them something extra as a treat. I'll bear that in mind. =)

Now you can get an item to grow up your pet :D
