Put your Contribution Farming tips here:
So far the most useful thing I have discovered is that sun drying is definitely better than smoking. At least, for fish. I'm at a loss though, beyond fish contribution seems to take a life time to grind out, and I'm at a point of the game where I need prosperity almost 10k higher to be able to do any quests.

unlock brewers, vinegar makers, and picklers, then just pickle your veggies and sell for a ton of contribution. some of my gold star pickled garlics go for 200+ contribution, and i have 24 picklers running at once.

Is the pickled product worth more in the end than both products processed and sold separately?

I must say, this Setup was not worth my Time, i just put the "Raw" Crops in the Shipping bin and got to fishing... until i found the big ones (800-1k Contribution Points in raw form)
After Drying the Value got up to 1,5k-1,8k
I had my Fishing Accessoires on and was only on the lookout for them, sometimes i fished 15-20 a day. My Biggest Payout i had was something like 35k for one Day Fishing.

Everything changed with the Arrival of the Watermill on my first Winter. Now my Harvest is processed in the Mill Daily and iam getting a few Thousands every other day, no more fishing for me ^^

I haven't unlocked picklers to have a direct answer, but you can do the same thing with fruits and the like. Juice and then brew to make fruit wine, and wine definitely "sells" for more than the juice/fruit. I would assume its the same for pickling, each phase should increase the value.

I horded all my wheat thinking id made bread at some point.. (dont craft food for contribution points btw major loss) but ended up using it to ferment then brew into wheat beer.... longer process but a heafty amount of contribution points atm 150 per wheat though im not sure what the wild wheat grain was since i made it into flower.

Rough Boost on a very small sample set:

Smoking and Juicing are parley when it comes to adding a couple contribution points

Drying Doubles for fish

(only tested on wheat)
Fermenting Doubles (wheat and milk)
Brewing Doubles (only tested on wheat and juice)

so Fermenting Then brewing = nice nice boost

My strat so far has been Fermenting high value fish to double their price. Making pickles, and drying fish. If I REALLY wanted money a day of mining can net you an absurd amount of contribution. (Gemstones "sell" for 60 contribution apiece.)

I'm really starting to think absolutely EVERYTHING in the game has a hidden knowledge/skill value. Fermenting/Drying/Smoking all seem to have extremely varied values for everyone. Like, it doubles the value of fish for you to ferment? Fermenting is maybe a 5% increase for me, where as smoking is about 15% and drying is like 20-25%.

I got a pickle empire going, and netting almost 100k every season (not sure if that's a lot, but everything in this game is soooo cheap compared to other games like it)

I haven't even quite hit 100k total prosperity yet, so sounds like a lot to me. I'm only on my first autumn though. XD

sorry, english is not my language.

Oats = milk (press), sour cream (ferment). Sour cream is more profitable than cheese. For me it is the most profitable by far and with the jungle I can plant all year long.
Best quality sour cream sells for 101
The fermenter only asks for normal wood.

Tomato: only for vinegar.

Pickling Vegetables: Sea Kale in spring, Butternut Squash and Pineapple in summer (the pineapple for wine and vintage wine), Pumpkin and Sweet Potato in autumn, Broccoli in winter.

Legumes: useless

Cereals: Oats for milk and wheat for making bread (128 energy). A little sesame for oil (not to sell)

Aging works in the long term.
Making highest rarity vegetables/fruits, then juicing them, making wine out of them and finally aging them. Aged beets net 440 contribution. Can make easy 20k a week if you have enough produce & aging barrels.

Thanks for the other tips though!

Same, GamerTeah said fermenting wheat doubles and here I am with about 5% increase...
