no combat? (READ BEFORE JUDGING THE TITLE...)
Is there really no combat in the game? If so, what is there to do other than explore and expand the village? Sounds a bit boring... Can someone talk me into buying it (as in other features that make up for the lack of content)?

EDIT FOR CLARIFICATION:
I'M IN NO WAY SAYING THE GAME MUST HAVE COMBAT. I'm simply asking what other content there is. Don't reply if you don't have something useful to add...

Not weird at all. Archaeological evidence suggests there wasn't a lot of collective violence in much of the paleolithic. Why, precisely, is uncertain, though there are probably multiple reasons including things like very low population density.

Hmm don't see it applying here if there's multiple tribes in this game . No combat would be like a bunch of different chimp tribes bumping into each other and not trying to kill each other . That just doesn't happen.

I would have loved combat but it's still really fun without it. Lots of random things to do and explore. Honestly, the main combat of this game is battling the time. The day and night cycle is so fast. Stamina is no issue but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, look away for a second and a quarter of your day is gone.

The pot calling the kettle black

No dork, the reality is that this game is not for you, it will never be for you, move the f*ck on. You're not the main character. NO ONE OWES YOU AN EXPLANATION OF WHY THIS GAME MIGHT APPEAL TO YOU LMAOOOOOOOOO get the f*ck out

The sort of comments that is not needed here and explained explicitly by the author of the thread. Refrain from arguing on this any further if you dont have constructive responses or flagged for unnecessary negativity.

As for the author of the thread, your thread made me realize why i felt like something was amiss in the game and made me wander around thinking 'I want to kill some of the animals for their meat aka hunting'

The game makes a very active goal of forcing you to contribute to the community in order to exchange/obtain items with villagers or start research objectives (some, not all). so your constantly running around as a researcher/developer rather than some free roaming farmer in stardew valley.

But yeah, hunting and combat would really make a difference in the game. I specifically wanted it so that some of the wildlife (like the lions in the savannah) would chase you around and you would have to evade them and reach the points of interest (POI) for your seeds/objectives etc.
Just saw the game on steam, and the same question came to me, thx for the thread, after reading i think it isn't for me, like the comment above me said, i would like at least to be able to hunt. when i saw the boar i was already planning to make a armor of him. is strange to have a game that even has vegan food and stuff, like they do care to fill peoples preferences, but no hunting is too much for me, i hope ,like i saw in other comments, they may change that and include hunting. i don't think is necessary to fight other tribes, fine by me with peace, but i like hunting to craft things in a farm game.
I never was a fan of farming games trying to also be combat simulators, combat was easily the least fun part of stardew valley for me, so frankly it not being included was part the reason why I bought this one. Stardew Valley walls some content behind participating in the chore of fight club mines and I'd rather not have to do that.

Instead, this is a very typical harvest moon/story of seasons game. Those also had no combat and are just fine without it. Meaning you take care of animals, harvest crops, advance bigger goals linked to those tasks and build up your assortment of barns/private house + decorate it. Characters seem to also have stories and you probably can 'marry' one of them.

There are also the cave challenges which is a bit of busywork with some light puzzles, which are fairly fun little distractions.

I guess in the end this is not a high octane game - its a relaxing trek rather than a sprint. Making an efficient farm with irrigation and people from the village giving you a hand with the farm; breeding animals into providing high quality product. Or breeding yourself the ultimate speed-mount for the racing event. There are a few pets, though their purpose is very much just cosmetic.

Beyond that there's cooking which requires some specific ingredients. There's fishing, which also has a full list of fish you can strive to collect. This is a colectathon in a way.

There are also visual changes to the village as the villagers build new elements to it as the prosperity rises, and new systems/tools are introduced to provide more complicated/efficient farm buildings and facilities.

There's probably more, as I only played 14 hours so far, so this is based solely on my experience, but if you're looking for a relaxing experience, it's for you.

how is he trolling? People see cavemen and assume there's combat . Seriously get over yourself
Strange that something that makes 0,00% of real life has to make up for 99,99% of game mechanics.
I honestly don´t miss anything.

This game has no shortage of content. This game is non-violent. Yes, some people today cannot even imagine that.

You can engage in farming, solving puzzles and discovering secrets in this game. It's a very entertaining game.

I bought it precisely because there is no combat here.

If you would play Stardew Valley without combat then you should get this game.

If there's no way you'd play Stardew Valley without combat, then there's a 90% chance you won't enjoy this game.

Most of the game is progression through making money (contribution in this game) by generating resources from your land in a variety of ways and either trading or turning it in. There's several ways you can go about it, so I don't find that boring, but it depends on what you enjoy.

Personally I enjoy the economic or progression efficiency "puzzle" that exists within all these types of games. i.e. what's more money, selling raw goods, once refined goods, crafted goods, etc. More specifically trying to guess and test out effective ways to progress throughout the game and managing the associated logistics of inventory management and resource production while balancing time spent on interactions with other NPCs. However, that's not for everyone.

combat doesn't mean human on human, they were hunters, hunting specially with basic spears and the like is certainly combat wouldn't you say ?

Don't get me wrong I hate killing animals even in games so I'm not complaining but it certainly is strange for a prehistoric society not having to hunt for food.
Well someone in the tribe does as we can get meat from him but we never see any hunting parties even less take part in it.
