At last, more than a dozen farming games in, and I've finally found it.

A game with a fishing mechanic I actually like. It's thematically perfect for the game, and not as particular about timing. I didn't think it was possible, but here we are. 10/10 overall in the first few hours!

As somebody who's liked farming sims their entire life, this one is pretty cool! Does enough different and well to set it apart in my brain from the absolute deluge of farming sims we've been lucky to have.

I would recommend it at full price, but if it's on sale I'd pick it up over other choices if you're looking for a new farming sim to try out. The only kinda strange gameplay decision I had seen was how late in the game irrigation and auto-watering was unlocked (which even then, made sense to me honestly!) and my friend was kind of bummed that the pets didn't grow up.
Those two things have since been changed, which I think is pretty neat of the devs! All of my playtime as of writing this review is before that patch, and even without it I would have recommended Roots of Pacha wholeheartedly.

I freaking love this game. Highly recommend to anyone that enjoys games like Stardew Valley. I think my favorite aspect is discovering all the ideas and watching the community grow after each one is complete! It really adds a lot to the game play imo. 10/10 game that I always find myself coming back to. Can't wait for more updates in the future as well!
