So...am I supposed to not attack?

I'm confused about the mechanics, you anger the area if you kill things or something? So should i take it as a stealth game? I got farther by crouching and not fighting anything and booking it to the door, got to the head room, but a couple of fast enemies just got to me and basically one shot me, i'm confused.

Learn to avoid fighting as much as you can, yeah. The more things you attack and hurt, the more pissed off the game WILL get with you. Once you start killing, it snowballs.

But of course, you can't not-kill forever. Sometimes it's just required to pop someone for your self defense. Don't hesitate to stay alive in the moment.

Now mind you, if you can trick things into dying indirectly (lead into traps, kill eachother, etc.) that's gucci.

I never had problems with killing everything I run into, the gut seems to calm down when you descend to a new floor. You run very loudly, if you make a habit of locking up when something creeps by, usually you don't even have to fight in the first place.
