Maybe you'll be able to do steams screen share crap so someone can play with you as if they were beside you.
This is exactly how you can do it. If a game has co-op of any kind, if it's run through Steam, then it has online co-op, even if online isn't built directly into the game.
They can´t afford a complex online mode on 2020.
At least this way your friends can save some money and not have to buy a copy too.
Devs need to make more couch co-op games.
If you have net good enough for it though, I would suggest either the steam remote play thing, or parsec. Both allow for "online" multiplayer for local multiplayer-only games.
This made me laugh very hard.
Steam remote is trash, 1 person is always stuck on using the keyboard instead of being able to use 2 gamepads, unless they fixed that finally.
What kills it for me is the video quality for the connecting party; unbearably bad.
Honestly, by not making online multiplayer they're inviting people to buy one copy and then just play with friends. Works for me I guess but they're leaving money on the table.
