looking for game like terraformers [ turn based, 4x, not too long per session ]
I love Civilization. i love simulation, turn based with city or base building.
Somehow, CIV take extremely long per session. you have to play for 4 - 5 hours or more for a medium map with 4-6 AI.

so I looking for a game like this, not that long to play per session and each run feel unique because of roguelike element, tech tree, random generate thingy.

Thank you.

Little different beasts, and more akin to board games, but maybe "Stellaris Nexus" and/or "Hexarchy" might fit the bill.

hm, this is the best game of the genre especially when it comes to the "casual" feeling. You can save in CIv or Endless Space or whatever, but I know exactly what you mean.

For similar casual feeling maybe "Dorfromantik" could satisfy you on sale - it´s a relaxing strategic puzzle game with mini-rouguelike elements as you get new cards in your deck by reaching goals - just like here. But it´s not "deep" in any way, gets a bit repetetive but worth the price on sale

You want The Battle of Polytopia. It's a stripped-down version of Civ with a play time of under an hour. I play it on my phone all the time, but there's a PC port on Steam if that floats your boat. There are no microtransactions to worry about on mobile. There are about a dozen different civs you can buy for around $1 each and a few special civs with different ability trees for $2-$3.

Check out Terra Nil. It's a strategy game, coincidentally also about terraforming. It's not exactly city/base building, but you are putting down buildings to purify an area and accomplish goals. There are resources that you have to juggle and manage. Each stage is self-contained and fairly short, like maybe an hour or two max. However, I don't think there are any rogue-like elements to it.

I do think Terraformers is special because it's sorta this one-of-a-kind mashup of several different genres (city building, rogue-like, card draw games, etc.). But it also makes it a bit polarizing because fans of these genres have certain expectations that don't show up in this game (such as the fact that each session is SUPPOSED to be short, and you're not building something that's supposed to last 70+ turns). I'd love to see more games like this, but I figure it's a niche audience.
