Where is the hand saw?

I'm trying to get all the achievements and the last three revolve around the hand saw:

- Saw Wood Cutter Expert
- Saw Wood Cutter Master
- Faster plank sawing

I have completed all houses except the sandbox ones, but I don't remember coming across a hand saw in any of the levels. According to an online guide, it is supposed to be at the Trapper House, but I've looked around that map for 30 minutes and couldn't find it. There is a chainsaw, two measuring tapes and two bark strippers, but no hand saw.

Any help is appreciated.

do you not see a handsaw at your place?
Try to do a level restart and let us know. Maybe some collider didn't work.

Unfortunately not. I did sell the house and restarted the level, but there is no saw in sight. Also the placement of the other tools on the table is different in my game.

Thank you for your report, I have consulted with the developer and a bug has arisen. We will fix it and in the next update the handsaw should already be there.
In the meantime, please buy it in the shop as Artemis wrote :)

I'm not able to use the saw currently it seems. It makes the sound and all, but the wood doesn't actually get cut.

Are you trying to use it on the logs? The hand saw is just for the planks. There are a bunch of them next to the tablesaw.

@dev: Some additional information regarding what terv20 said above. I actually noticed the same problem for hours, I, too, wasn’t able to use the handsaw (not even in Japan). I’m using a controller (an Xbox One standard), and when I pressed RT (the button used for every action in the game), the handsaw just made the cutting noise with the planks, but it didn’t happen anything. Now, I did some experiments, and now I know what was wrong in my case. Sounds silly, but I actually had to press RB on the controller (normally the button for dropping things) for the handsaw to work, not RT like always. I actually can’t remember if there was a tutorial regarding this new button somewhere, or if I overlooked something, but it actually never came to my mind that I was doing something wrong because of the sounds. And I guess this at least has the potential for some kind of confusion for a few players, or maybe it’s even a little bug in the controller programming, because all the other time RT is the corresponding button to the left mouse button in the game. Anyway, hope this helps.
