Hey so let me help you out. Basically if you want dinosaurs to fight you have to take some things into account. first if you are playing in creative mode you have to enable the dinosaur fights in the creative setting menus where it says dinosaurs. if all those settings are enabled or you're playing in campaign or any other mode, you have to know that if you put a very strong dinosaur against a far less strong one, the one that isn't as strong is only going to fight if it's the last resort, and most of the time it will run. Now some dinosaurs like t rex and allosourus will fight because there is not a drastic difference between the 2 in power and defense. However, if you put a far smaller dinosaur against a t rex, it will most likely run away. Hope this helps. But remember always check the dinosaur settings. I belive that every mode outside of creative has default dinosaur settings but I would double check, this is a highly customization game.
