no, Jwe2 does have a different story to jwe but there nothing to miss jwe2 is more like jwe2.0.

JWE 1 had it's own story, but it was told to you through dialogue boxes as you completed objectives of building a Jurassic Park... JWE2 has narrative beats and events that change up the gameplay and break the monotony of the campaign mode. You definitely don't need to know what happened in 1 to play 2. They are disconnected entirely, and the only connections they hold are the original characters they brought back for 2, who have an even less of a roll in anything that happens in 2

Nope, JWE2 has zero ties to the story of JWE1, and you can skip the first game entirely and move on to the superior sequel.
