Repeater Substation (No Pylon)
Hi everyone,

I just thought I'd share how the repeater substation (without pylon) works. In all simplicity, the repeater substation HAS to connect to a regular substation (with the pylon).

I was jammed up for about 10 minutes, building and rebuilding, trying to figure out why my repeater substations were not connecting directly to the power station - they don't. Again, they are like a wireless extension to the substations with pylons.

It would be cool if they connected directly to the power station via underground cables, so we could go completely wireless (if desired). In any case, I hope this helps to add clarity to something so simply overlooked.

Yep thanks for sharing. I chose not to use repeater stations because when the storms come and knock one out, then most of the ones elsewhere on the map (depending on that one) die also, and you have a massive power outage. I know that wired you get a similar result but to combat that I usually make multiple wired pathways, and usually never have any major outage from lost wired substations. Best way to combat that (IMHO) is to have periodic wired substations that communicate with repeaters in a circle around them, then you only lose a small grid if a repeater goes out.

Frankly I don't mind the look of wired electrical grids. I think it makes it look authentic.
