To those who played the first one

Is this better? I stopped playing the first one because it was not very engaging. I really enjoyed the genesis though, so I thought I would like the evolution as well.

i like it more than the first one. gameplay is pretty much the same but it has some quality of life improvements. you can automate checkups on the dinosaurs and minor health issues, dinosaurs can more easily co-habit together while also being a bit pickier, you don't need herbivore feeders anymore. they've added scientists with stats and abilities that you send on digs/research/vet work and manage their stress. there's the tutorial campaign plus two dlc campaigns, challenge mode where maps have restrictions and handicaps, and chaos theory where you do something related to the movies but differently.

To me, this one is better than the previous game, more possibilities, more diversity, plus it keeps getting more and more content, wich surprises me

This one is a lot better gameplay wise. Lots of quality of life improvements; dinosaurs are now made in batches rather than just the individual, you can pause or fast forward time, the ranger station and ACU are combined, ranger team AI has greatly improved aim, way bigger maps (recently replayed JWE1 and forgot how claustrophobic the maps were), more sandbox options, and much more.

This game is essentially what the first game should have been. So yes it's far more engaging and much better overall.

if you didnt like the first game you wont like the second game. its just more stuff. more of the same concept. which is good - if you like it already.

I think they learned a lot of lessons from the first one that they put into the 2nd and I would say in my opinion that the 2nd installment is better than the first.
