Why must you walk so slow in the overworld?
Why can't you just move in the overworld like you do on a regular map. Movement feels great running around the regular map, then you get to the overworld and it just feels awful to play.

I actually agree with this.

Cause that's how it was in Chrono Trigger, and it wasn't good there either.

CT's running felt a little faster than this. I think they should add a sprint.

Maybe 20% quicker. It's one of the few things I don't like about that game. Agreed on map sprint, especially if maps in the final release are bigger and require more distance for exploration.

I agree. I hope that in the final version it will be faster.

if they dont force you into random encounters on the overworld, it doesnt matter how fast you move on the overworld. in all honesty, i know its just a overworld.... but it would look kind of goofy if the characters are skeeting across the overworld at the same speed they move when you are actually zoned in an area.

so I'm a big JRPG fan but who doesn't know a lot of the retro ones and what their impact was but I gotta say I hated the slow speed of the overworld. This isn't a biggie but even moving in towns IDK I kinda wanted there to be a sprint just my $0.02

Let's hope the devs listen to this. I had the same complaint, as well as others, during the switch demo release. I'm hoping the correction has already been made and that the pc demo was just the switch one ported over.

Considering this is a single player game, anything done to slowdown the gameplay needs to be removed. That includes the hold to cook and the slow overworld walking.

This is an odd thing to say, as devs almost never want to SPEED your playthrough up. Slower mechanics are almost always intentional to keep you playing longer, which is especially helpful these days, when everything is measured in "how many hours did I get out of this game? not enough? 2/10, trash game" logic.

Yeah overworld walking speed is too slow, but that's at least easily fixed.
GiBiT Jun 22, 2023 @ 5:37am
I definitely agree with the speed of the overworld walking speed. I think that's valid feedback that could be easily fixed.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
