Honestly I kind of wish it was simply a main menu option to go into this DLC like the Tales of Arise DLC is, so it doesn't require having a save at a specific point to access. Wouldn't have been an issue if it released day one... but I'm not sure most people have a save at the right point to jump right in and idk about replaying the whole game any time soon.
As soon as you get or already have "Enter the Artificer" or "Dweller of Strife" a message box could pop up telling you that the DLC is now accessible from the main menu.
The whole Pirate Crew is there though... Maybe Seraï was abducted?
I haven't seen any DLC footage where the other party members are shown being part of combat. And on the website it only lists these 3 under "playable characters"... pretty much confirming that.

I don't think Seraï will be playable but isn't it suspicious that the whole crew is there? The DLC seems to be focused on the Valere, Zale and the Watchmaker so why include them and not Seraï? This is why I think she will be tied to the story in some form or another (-> giving the rest of the pirate crew motivation and reason to be there in the first place).
