Late-game sidequest help (spoilers)

I'm trying to do the Duke Aventry late-game side quest and I think a key NPC seems to be missing.

I couldn't be bothered to go figure out the rune pattern, so I just used a guide to open up Romaya's secret cave and get her journal. All the guides say that Duke Aventry should be outside when you leave the cave, but I don't see him anywhere. I've gone back to the Flooded Graveyard as well and I don't think he's there either. Am I missing something, or have I hit a bug?

For me, he moved back to his original position near the waterway entrance to that river crypt at the bottom of the first area in the graveyard.

This is where he was for me as well.

Yeah you're just in the wrong spot, he's all the way left, and his crypt is in the same spot just down to the left after you talk to him.

Go straight left from where the ferryman drops you off

Wait, I found him. I kept going and he was just past the raft area. Maybe he didn't move because I didn't talk to him first. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, you’re supposed to go out the lower right exit of the room with the journal, instead of going back how you came in. It leads you right back to the Flooded Graveyard where he is.
