Can't get back inside the necromancer's lair?

So I'm trying to 100% the game right now & am currently going for treasure. Parrot tells me theres still treasure left in the necromancer's lair, but the door is locked. What do I do? Can you just not go back in there after completing the main story, or would the chest be somewhere outside of the main dungeon?

Have you obtained and used the Yellow Flame yet?

The Necromancer Lair doesn't lock you out of anything; pretty sure the part it locks you out of is just the boss room, which the player never got to explore anyway. It just bizarrely counts an area of the Flooded Graveyard you can't get to as available when it actually isn't until you get a very late game ability.
