Relics?
Will relics disable achievements or something like that or its just a feature to add options to the game ? The one that fully heals party after combat seems too much op.

its just easy mode if someone dont want to acually play but want story. I use this second relic which shows star when you do good attack or defense because in normal mode its very unclear to me

That's an excellent question and there's nothing during the gameplay itself that says whether it turns achievements off or on using them... so maybe they don't...?

Pretty sure achievements still work with them. At least with the one that shows a star when you attack pretty sure I got an achievement with it enabled. I would guess it's the same for all of them.

Then....don't use it. Relics are difficulty settings, just more robust.

The blue relics make the game easier, the orange relics either make the game harder or have a benefit with a big tradeoff.
It's difficulty customization, just like any other game where easy mode doesn't disable achievements.

I'm using the orange relic that causes you to take 40% more damage for example, which is a vanilla hard mode basically, and then the +20% XP blue relic to compensate so I can progress a bit faster to compensate.

It's all up to you.

It's basically like the white tanooki in Mario 3D, it breaks the game with zero tradeoff imo. If its there, people will use it.

I use the relic that causes you to do more damage when an enemy isn't doing anything special, but far less when it's charging an attack. I like how it changes the fights a little.

I don't have a problem with the relic system for accessibility reasons, but their flexibility to smooth out any challenge is troublesome, not to mention their inconsistency in function (explained in detail below):

There seem to be two different types; 'external' modifiers (which alter the entire game's combat difficulty) and 'internal' upgrades (such as ones to improve the ship and fishing rod). For those of us who want to preserve a consistent 'normal' difficulty level throughout the game, it's clear we should leave the modifiers off, but toggle the upgrades on when we unlock them.

However the fact that you start the game with some (acting as difficulty modes) yet purchase others from shops later in the game, blurs the distinction between these two types. For example, are the 20% exp boost or 10% shop price reduction considered modifiers or upgrades? Should I consider it 'cheating' to turn these ones on? It's also hard to distinguish between such relics and some of the amulets that, when equipped, buff the whole party.

I feel some of the relics should be amulets instead, or at least have a more detailed colour system to distinguish types (than just blue for easy and red for hard). That way those of us who want to play according to the developer's intention know which ones to turn on and which to leave off.
