It was late at night and I know it was somewhere by cloud kingdom on the map but I can't find it.

The puppet pointed to my map and put a star on Cloud Kingdom as well, but there's nothing more for me to do there. This did happen very late in the game for me though, so maybe I messed something up, or I need to go back and search like heck lol

Resh'an doesn't point to the Cloud Kingdom but to what's directly below it in the water. If you complete all of the secret Docari Ruins, a whirlpool will appear in that exact location.

Ahh I see. I did that already by that time so I was confused. Thanks. I also had a similar situation with another party member where I did their optional content before talking to them.

This happened to me too, the triggers for the party member dialogs are bugged, looks like some of them are not correctly updated after you finish the relevant quests.

I think the game is giving the dialog so you don't miss it. Otherwise some events don't really have context as to why the party even went to those locations.
