Where to get Garl Armor

So I left Brisk and went to Lucent, and Garl leaves the party momentarily. I go to the shop and sell some items I "thought" I didn't need. Seems like when Garl was momentarily not part of the party, his gear became unequipped, so I sold it. Annoying. Not sure why it said unequipped.
I ended up getting him another lid, but the armor sold at Lucent he can't wear. Is there anyway to go back to Brisk? I'm not sure what to do as far as armor for him right now.

Don't worry, you won't use him for a while again and I think you'll be able to buy or find new armor by the time you get him back.

I got him back already. Didn't take that long (like just literally entering the main house.) Now I've got to fight enemies with an armorless character. I've been doing it, but would just be nice to not be at such a disadvantage.

When he back, the next area contain Spectral Cape he can wear.

I'm having the opposite problem, I had Garl equip the Abacus in order to see enemies' HP and now I can't get it from him and assign it to a different character. Am I missing something?

same problem here, seems to be an oversight from the devs
