Quebec City. Hence the rock goat enemies being "Rochévres" (Literally Rockgoat) :P
and what's wrong with that?
There's... some pretty serious drama and beef going on between china and hong kong, with a looooooooot of history behind it. More than can be expressed in a steam forum post.
lol they dont like the combat? XD
god help them if they ever played legend of dragoon and shadow hearts XD
as SOON as i learnt about the "perfect timing on attacks = more attacks + less damage for perfect blocks" i got massive LoD and SH vibes
I'm not kidding when I say the game's pixel art is the only thing carrying it.
>You never get new skills
>Your sprites never change with equipment
>There's no minimap
>Everything is stupid linear
>Stupid dumbazz 4th wall breaking "haha hi fellow gamers" writing right in the very beginning of the game
>Constant unavoidable enemies that halt forward progress
>Combo skills that for some reason are orders of magnitude worse than regular skills.
>The menus/UI are so god awful it's really kind of telling.
>The kid who got stabbed in the eye in the tutorial is irritatingly happy the entire time...
>Every time you choose to use a skill, you have to wait a second or two for a pop-up at the top of the screen to tell you how to use the skill "Hold attack!" "Tap attack." Every. Single. Time.
>The NPCs and characters, will. not. stop talking. And never ever get to the point. I've skipped through every single dialogue up til now, it's that bad.
>Stupid puzzles with solutions in the next room or 10 feet away, artificially padding out game length for what?
Why should i have to spend an extra 5-10 minutes moving this platform, push that block, or pull that lever when the challenge is literally feet away? Why is that door locked if the key is literally in a chest around the corner on a separate screen? This happens constantly, it's practically the entire map exploration.
It literally feels like every single aspect of this game is designed to waste your time in order for the devs to claim "30 hours of gameplay" or some dumb sh!t.
I'm not being hyperbolic when I say there are RPGMaker games with vastly more depth nowadays, they just might not look as pretty. Once release hype dies out, this game will eventually settle into the low to mid 70% positive review area in my opinion. It's just.... okay. Nothing more.
It reaches quite large scales. Like a fashion model can get millions of comments "you're ugly" "kill yourself" simply for not looking stereotypically Han.
FF6, FF7 and Xenogears have some of the worst Enlgish translations in RPG history and their gameplay is simplistic and I have a whole bunch of other criticisms. Hasn't stopped them from being on my all time top 10. These are just bad reviews or WeChat cancel gangs. You decide.
