Is it trying to push an agenda, or is it enjoyable?
How does it compare to games like Chained Echoes?

Is the story interesting, or is it trying to fill checkboxes to push somekind of an agenda?

No flaming plz <3

Edit: let's keep it civil please ❤️

Look, at the end of the day, it's a pretty transparent issue.

You're forced to use menacing buzzwords and coded language like "wokeism," "agenda," and forced to talk - ambiguously - about "politics" being "forced" upon you or "pushed" in your face, because the actual substance of your argument doesn't sound good out loud.

Seriously, kids: you'd all come off more sincere if you simply said things like, "I don't like gay characters, brown characters, trans characters, or games where powerful women/girls are more prominent than their male counterparts," rather than bleating about spooky agendas in coded talk-radio language. Speak plainly. Try it.

I understand that vague terminology makes it easier to stand your ground when everyone around you seems to be moving in a different direction, but you're not fooling anyone but yourselves.

I believe any medium should maintain neutrality and not lean too heavily into specific ideals. The trend of normalizing certain perspectives, like the acceptance of multiple genders, has broad implications.

It's especially concerning when these narratives influence children and their perceptions of themselves, given the undeniable physical realities. It shouldn't only be my concern, but everyone's elses as well, since wide range of children are being injected with testosterone blockers and medicine that is being used on sexual predators.
This nonsense has come too far and has become unacceptable.

I feel that any media, be it games, movies or books, should exercise caution in the messages they promote, especially to younger audiences. I'd prefer not to have this agenda heavily featured in the media I consume or pushed onto me.

Video games in the past didn't require any kind of social or political messages to be entertaining, and they don't need to mark some check marks to fullfil leftist ideologies.

Can video games be fun again without politics, am I asking for too much?

Seems like a pretty sincere attempt to just tell an entertaining story so far. In my opinion.

I think I read on the net it has a cozy storytelling style, not really dark and gritty, instead of trying to tell a political / existential intrigue like Chained Echoes. I'd appreciate it more of the originality if only it doesn't ape alot of Chrono Trigger in terms of presentation and music.

10000 times better than chained echoes. There is also no agenda pushing. Based dev.

Yes, there's two major plot points in the first few hours talking about non-conformance. More than enough to trigger you. Now go away troll.

Why are people flaming this poster? This is a legit question in this day and age when many games released are trying to force LGBTQ issues on you.

Can confirm. Just the other day a swat team broke in my home and threatened me to play a game I didn't want filled with lgbt themes.

It was the most terrifying experience of my entire fictional life.

Every single game, TV show, movie, music track, is trying to push someone's agenda, people have opinions and those opinion inevitably comes out in their work one way or another.

Yes that is true. But nowadays many games are pushing one agenda in particular, that of LGBTQ representation and frankly many of us are sick of it. So we prefer to play games where that agenda is not being pushed. Hence the question.

Let’s not play dumb here. You know what the op means. He’s asking if it will allow you to immerse yourself in a fictional world or will you constantly have your immersion broken to be reminded that it’s “current year.”
You can act like this isn’t a thing in modern entertainment but you would just be acting. It’s beyond ignoring at this point. You’re either in favor of it or you’re opposed to it. You can’t pretend it doesn’t exist.

You do realize that just calling an entire group of humans "an agenda" for being themselves is hateful, right? There was likely a time when people were complaining about this "anti-slavery agenda" too.

You should learn to phrase the question in a way that doesn't sound hateful and still gets to the heart of the topic.

"Does this game have LGBTQ characters or themes?"

...and just leave it at that. That's not a hateful question. What you just said however shows a lack of real conversation skills. Like you've been existing in an echo chamber not the real world. These topics come up in office meetings FFS.

Another thread was asking if the game is woke and now someone is asking if there is an agenda, seriously as a mod I would erase those threads... The anti-wokeness is just as bad...

This whole argument is irrelevant anyway because No, the game isn’t woke.

Yes woke is a thing. And no, being opposed to woke isn’t hateful or homophobic or whatever slurs you wanna sling. “Woke” is a symptom of corporatization of entertainment. Specifically in the west. Being opposed to “woke” is being opposed to a very specific type of stagnant writing. Specifically “self inserting of the writer.”
Being woke doesn’t mean “gay people or non white people existing or being in the story.”

But none of this matters anyway because the game isn’t woke. So there ya go.

Good thing I don't suffer from second hand embarrassment, because hoooo boy...
